Feelings Poster

This is a wall velcro-poster, presented as a series of A4 panels for easy printing. The intended purpose is to allow teachers to progressively introduce one new response to the common question “How are you?” at the start of each lesson, before having the students practise the response and then choose a place on the wall to display it for later review. The title is inspired by an amusingly named poster I recall seeing as a child entitled “Gooder Words Than Good”. I suspect all those working in the East Asian EFL industry can probably sympathise with the plight to eliminate “I’m fine, thank you. And you?” as a stock-standard response.

Once printed, laminated and assembled, the final product is a little over A2 in size with 16 vocabulary slots and 20 response cards allowing teachers to mix and match a bit. Single page variants at custom sizes may be available upon request, for those of you who have access to poster printers and lamination equipment. All visual representations are kept clean, bright and simple such that even the most artistically challenged student could mimic.

Rock, Paper, Scissors Poster

This is a wall poster, presented as a series of A4 panels for easy printing. The intended purpose is to provide a quick reference to the expanded version of Rock, Paper, Scissors by Sam Kass, which in turn is a great way to review the present simple tense (including how plurals affect it) and a bunch of verbs. I personally recommend enforcing the rule to students that if the call is not correctly made, you must play again.

Some amendments have been made to Sam Kass’ original work to make it more age-appropriate. Specifically, the call “decapitate” has been replaced by “scare”, “disprove” by “confuse” and a duplicate call revised.

Once printed, laminated and assembled, the final product is a little over A2 in size. Single page variants at custom sizes may be available upon request, for those of you who have access to poster printers and lamination equipment. Furthermore, variants with the “official” calls and Spock replaced by South Korea’s Pororo character may also be available upon request, personal time pending.

Spock character is property of its respective copyright holders, and included under Fair Use.
